Sledding
Fun away from the slopes for young and old. In some Lungau communities, you will find sledding courses or natural sledding hills! In Mauterndorf itself, there is a floodlit, some 500 m long sledding run right by the winter footpath leading to the ski center at the foot of Mauterndorf Castle, as well as a natural run from the Gamsstadl on the Fanningberg to the Jacklbauer farm. Sleigh Rides/Horseback Riding
The romantic side valleys are ideal for extended excursions on a horse-drawn sleigh. Enjoy the snow-covered winter countryside of the Lungau from high in the saddle, or wrapped up snugly beneath a blanket in the back of a horse-drawn carriage.

Ice Skating & Ice Stock
As soon as temperatures are right, Mauterndorf has a natural ice rink at the adventure pool available for everyone's enjoyment. This can be used for ice skating, or if desired, for a friendly game of ice stock.
At Mauterndorf Ski Center, too, you can show off your ice-stock playing skills.
