From the north: Autobahn Munich-Salzburg, A 10 Tauern Autobahn, through the Tauern tunnel to the St. Michael exit and 9 km to Mauterndorf or (detouring the Tauern Tunnel) take the Graz/Altenmarkt exit and continue on the B 99 via Radstadt and Obertauern to Mauterndorf.
From the east: Vienna A 2 Südautobahn - Semmering - Leoben - Unzmarkt - Murau - Tamsweg - Mauterndorf; or Vienna A 1 Westautobahn to Salzburg, A 10 Tauern Autobahn, through the Tauern tunnel to the St. Michael exit and 9 km to Mauterndorf or (detouring the Tauern Tunnel) take the Graz/Altenmarkt exit and continue on the B 99 via Radstadt and Obertauern to Mauterndorf.
